Blueberry River First Nations wins important historical claim in Specific Claims Tribunal
November 12, 2015
The Blueberry River First Nations, represented by Ratcliff lawyers Jamtes Tate and Michelle Bradley, have won an important historical claim at the Specific Claims Tribunal of Canada (“SCT”). The SCT has ruled that the Federal Crown breached its fiduciary duty to Blueberry River First Nations and Doig River First Nation when government officials failed to notice that British Columbia had reserved subsurface rights in replacement reserves set aside for the First Nations’ benefits.
