Associate Solicitor – Aboriginal Law
Support our broad, First Nations client portfolio with an emphasis on supporting and advising Indigenous governments, as well as economic development and corporate commercial matters. Grow your practice in a collaborative team environment while developing strategic and creative legal solutions for our clients and their communities.
Position Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Currently qualified to practice law in British Columbia.
- Secure understanding of public law, with experience advising Indigenous, municipal or other government entities, and/or business law, including experience drafting contracts, leases, purchase agreements, shareholder agreements, etc.
- Exceptional client service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and reasoning capabilities.
Additional Assets
- Experience in legislative drafting and/or real estate transactions.
- Called to the bar in Yukon, Northwest Territories, or other jurisdictions.

Legal Assistant – Real Estate
We are currently seeking a full-time permanent Real Estate Legal Assistant to join our North Vancouver office working with our Real Estate team. The successful candidate will be a proactive team player with a minimum of 3 years of conveyancing experience, have a keen eye for detail and accuracy, as well as familiarity with real estate and general law.
Ratcliff LLP’s real estate services encompass a broad spectrum, from residential, commercial, and recreational property transactions to specialized areas like land assembly, subdivision, private lending, strata governance, and more. This position will be responsible for supporting the group on all matters relating to real estate transactions. This is a great opportunity for someone who has a passion for real estate and is looking to work alongside a highly dedicated team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage and execute all steps in the residential and commercial conveyancing process, including drafting and reviewing legal documents, contracts, and agreements
- Liaise with lawyers, mortgage brokers, clients, real estate agents, land title offices, and other parties involved in real estate transactions
- Conduct and review property searches, due diligence searches, and prepare relevant reports
- Maintain a high level of client service, responding to inquiries and providing updates on transactions in a timely manner
- Conduct reporting and all necessary follow-ups to ensure satisfaction of undertakings
- Prepare closing books, trust reconciliations, reporting letters and billing
- Other duties as required or assigned
What We Are Looking For
- At least 3 years of legal experience working within Real Estate in a law firm, with a proven track record and exposure to both commercial and residential real estate transactions
- Certificate or diploma in legal administration, paralegal studies, or related field
- Good working knowledge of real estate terminology, contracts and forms
- Strong understanding of BC Land Title Office registration requirements and capability with e-filing
- Proficient with typical law office systems (Outlook, MS Word/Excel, Esi-Law, BC Online, LTSA)
- Prior experience using conveyancing software, such as Pro-suite, or a similar platform
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team and manage high-stress situations
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
- Previous experience working with First Nations clients is considered an asset

Join our Wills & Estates team as a full-time Legal Assistant or Paralegal in our North Vancouver office. We’re seeking a proactive team player skilled in drafting Wills, Powers of Attorney, Representation Agreements, and Trusts.
Primary Responsibilities
- Client communication and request handling
- Scheduling appointments and gathering information
- Drafting Wills, Powers of Attorney, Representation Agreements, Trusts and related documents
- Assisting lawyers with clients’ correct execution of documentation
- Conducting Wills Registry filings and reviewing Land Title Office searches
- Upholding high client service standards through document accuracy and timely updates
- Preparing invoices and reporting letters to clients
- Managing lawyers’ calendars and active file lists
- Collaborating on file progress with team members
- General administrative duties as required
What We Are Looking For

Accounting Assistant
We are currently seeking a part-time, permanent Accounting Assistant to join our North Vancouver office working with our Accounting team. The successful candidate will be a proactive team player with a keen eye for detail and accuracy, focused on providing excellent client services. This role is ideal for someone looking for part-time hours and a flexible schedule, to be determined around the needs of the suitable candidate.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support with Accounting tasks such as billing, disbursements, accounts payable, filing, file openings
- Update various excel spreadsheets
- Assist the team with various special projects and department initiatives
- Perform other related duties assigned by the Accounting Manager as required
What We Are Looking For
- 2+ years of accounting experience, within a law firm environment is preferred
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures, prior experience with trust accounting is desired
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and grow, take on new responsibilities as needed
- Knowledge of law firm billing processes, Law Society rules and understanding of legal billing software is highly desirable
