Sandra Lafontaine is an experienced professional currently pursuing a legal career with a focus on Aboriginal and Indigenous law as they relate to:

  • Health and wellness;
  • Child and family services;
  • Land and real property;
  • Legislative and constitutional development; and
  • Indigenous governance, including membership issues.

In addition to a strong foundation in law, Sandra possesses a wealth of practical experience in various roles within the legal and administrative fields. Notably, her 15-year tenure with the Squamish Nation, where she served as a Council Transcriber, Executive Assistant, and Accounting Clerk, showcased her proficiency in Indigenous governance, account management,  and stakeholder relations.

As part of her legal education, Sandra appeared before the Provincial Court of British Columbia.

Sandra’s commitment to excellence extends beyond her professional life, as evidenced by her interests in reading, travel, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. She is a member of the Squamish Nation.

I chose Ratcliff because of its longstanding commitment to Indigenous communities, particularly the firm’s support of my Nation in the Kitsilano Reserve (Sen̓áḵw) case and subsequent settlement, and other ongoing matters. Ratcliff’s Indigenous focus aligns perfectly with my passion for Aboriginal law, providing me with a comprehensive and fulfilling career path dedicated to the well-being of Indigenous communities in Canada.
