Kaymi is a graduate of the dual degree program in Canadian Common Law (JD) and Indigenous Legal Orders (JID), where their legal education focused on transsystemic legal theory and practice. While articling at Ratcliff, Kaymi is particularly excited to support the firm’s work with Nations asserting their inherent rights, jurisdiction, and Indigenous laws.

Kaymi is passionate about increasing access to justice and leveraging colonial legal tools to the advantage of marginalized peoples. They have a diverse range of experience working for legal non-profits and advocacy organizations including West Coast LEAF, Pivot Legal Society, West Coast Environmental Law, and the BC First Nations Justice Council. Throughout law school, they have held volunteer and leadership roles at Pro Bono Students Canada, Together Against Poverty Society, the Community Legal Assistance Society, and Access Pro Bono.
