Russell is a passionate and accomplished Articled Student with a background in environmental law and sustainability.
Prior to articling at Ratcliff, Russell gained valuable experience during the first half of his articling term at the University of Victoria Environmental Law Centre (ELC), where he had also served as a Co-op Student in 2021. At the ELC, Russell worked on public interest environmental law files, including an amicus brief, submissions to the Consultation on the Future of Competition Policy in Canada, and reports on marine pollution and wildfire protection. Prior to beginning his articling term, Russell served as a Co-op Student at Plus Arts NPO, a disaster preparedness non-profit in Kobe, Japan.
Russell’s commitment to environmental and community causes extends beyond his professional endeavors, having contributed to various projects and committees promoting social justice and community engagement.
Articling at Ratcliff allows me to affect positive change in our physical and legal relations, and supports my beliefs in the power of self-determination.
