Personal Profile:

Kristy developed an interest in the area of aboriginal law while a student in the Bachelor of Laws program. She has had two articles published in the area:

Modification, Infringement, and the "Visible, Incompatible" Test: The Impact of R. v. Badger on Treaty Hunting Rights in the Prairie Provinces (2005) 68 Sask. L. Rev. 403; and

Indian Reserved Water Rights: Should Canadian Courts "Nod Approval" to the Winters Doctrine and What are the Implications for Saskatchewan if they Do? (2006) 69 Sask. L. Rev. 251.

Another of her articles was used as course material for an Aboriginal Law and Policy seminar at the University of Saskatcewan instructed by Paul L.A.H. Chartrand, one of the Commisioners for the Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples. Kristy joined Ratcliff in 2007 after clerking with the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal. Her outside interests include running, skiing, tennis and world travel.
