Cam’s litigation, negotiation, and arbitration practice focuses on environmental matters. Before joining Ratcliff, he practiced international arbitration in New York where he represented sovereign states and foreign investors, appeared before World Bank ICSID investment tribunals, and acted for pro-bono clients including the Sabin Center for Climate Change Law at Columbia University. Cam clerked for Chief Justice Bauman at the Court of Appeal for British Columbia, and for Justice Côté at the Supreme Court of Canada.
Prior to law school, Cam spent over two decades in various environmental leadership positions including Executive Director of Smart Growth BC, LEED Manager at the Canada Green Building Council, President of the Eco-Lumber Co-op, Certification Manager at the Silva Forest Foundation, Comptroller of Greenpeace Canada, and as a sustainability consultant for municipal governments and environmental organizations.
Cam served on the Board of various community organizations including the Vancity Community Foundation (Co-Chair), the Cascadia Green Building Council, the Silva Forest Foundation, and the Forest Stewardship Council of Canada (BC Steering Committee). He is currently an Adjunct Professor at Simon Fraser University.
